As a former auxiliary Police Officer and long-serving Chair of the Windsor Police Service Board, Drew Dilkens knows what is required to keep our community safe and secure.
Changing demographic and economic conditions mean that security and community safety concerns evolve as time goes on. Drew Dilkens is proposing a holistic approach to community safety and policing that reinforces crime prevention, addresses the root causes of security concerns, and sets bold targets for enhanced safety. Every neighbourhood of the City of Windsor will see increased support and activity through Dilkens’ “Safety First” Plan.

Plan for establishment of a new of a Real-Time Operations Centre for Windsor Police Service (WPS).

Expand Project Greenlight throughout all Business Improvement Areas (BIAs).

Expand traffic calming measures in all wards and build towards full implementation of Vision Zero.

Add additional active transportation features like sidewalks and bike lanes to Windsor’s collector roads, including additional street lighting.

Extend proactive by-law outreach into all wards, to include public health and nursing staff to address areas of concern in real time.

Implement a zero-tolerance initiative for hate, harassment, and intimidation, ensuring that hate-motivated crimes are treated seriously and consistently.
“Windsor families need to feel secure in their neighbourhoods and across the city,” said Drew Dilkens. “Crime prevention and increasing residents’ feelings of personal and property security help to unlock growth and quality of life.”
Overall, In Windsor and Amherstburg, property crime was down 4.4 % year-to-date, compared to the first six months of 2025. Crimes against property include arson, fraud, break-and-enter, theft, and mischief. For June alone, police reported a 2.6 % decline in property crime complaints from June 2025.
Only Drew Dilkens has the experience necessary to drive a Safety First agenda at City Hall, to help Windsor families feel safe and secure in every corner of the City of Windsor.
